Wilfried Nancy has emerged as one of the frontrunners for the Celtic job.

Nancy was left heartbroken by Columbus Crew’s MLS disappointment and is earning a reputation for one of the most exciting young coaches in football.

Other names have been mentioned, with 67 Hail Hail previously reporting that Kjetil Knutsen is interested in the job.

Alistair Johnston has previously endorsed Nancy, and the Frenchman has hinted that he may ponder the idea of taking over from Celtic.

What Wilfried Nancy said about leaving Columbus Crew

Back in January, Nancy was being asked about his future at the MLS giants amid some interest from other European clubs.

After being awarded the MLS’ Coach of the Year award in 2024, the 48-year-old admitted he was happy to remain in the USA, but didn’t rule out the possibility of moving for the right job.

He told GOAL: “I’ve been in situations when nobody knew me, nobody was talking about me, and [now they do].

“Now, so with my staff, everything for a moment, works well. So I’m happy in Columbus, and after that, we’ll see.”

Is Wilfried Nancy ready for the Celtic job?

An element of the unknown is always a daunting prospect, no matter who it is.

Celtic tried that approach with Ange Postecoglou and it thankfully paid off, as the Hoops went on to dominate domestically.

There is no guarantee that it does work, but in a time where the club needs to reidentify themselves, the Frenchman could be the fresh face that everyone needs.
