Celtic and Newcastle United face each other in the Bhoys’ fourth pre-season game of the season.

The Hoops beat Sporting CP in midweek and Brendan Rodgers was impressed with the ‘outstanding’ display.

Kieran Tierney will be handed his second home debut since returning from Arsenal and it will also be a chance to see the other new faces like Hayato Inamura and Benjamin Nygren.

Newcastle will be the toughest test of pre-season so far despite the transfer speculation surrounding Eddie Howe’s side.

There has been plenty of crossover between the two teams and one former player who represented the two sides is now living a very different life.

What does Mark Viduka do now?

Hoops and Magpies fans will probably have differing opinions of Mark Viduka.

The Australian signed for Celtic in 1998 but the move initially looked to be in tatters after Viduka quit due to stress before reversing his decision.

It was a move that paid off and he would eventually secure a move to Leeds United for £6m in 2000. He became Sam Allardyce’s first signing as Newcastle manager in 2007 but endured a torrid time with injuries and was released following relegation to the Championship.

After retiring from football aged 34, Viduka decided to return to Croatia and is now running a coffee shop in the country’s capital.

It’s called Non Plus Ultra, which translates to “No Higher Point” and you can regularly find the former Celtic star grinding coffee beans to make delicious drinks for customers.

Despite representing Australia at international level, Viduka is in fact a distant relation to 2018 Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric.

Viduka’s dad, Joe, is of Croatian heritage and is the first cousin of Modric’s father, Stipe.

The two could’ve played together for Croatia but instead, Viduka opted to play for the country of his birth.
