Celtic are one of the best-supported clubs around the world.
As well as the millions of fans, there are also a number of celebrities who support Celtic.
It is often common to be asked ‘who do you prefer out of Celtic and Rangers?’
Even former professionals can’t escape this question, with Jamie Carragher answering openly and honestly.

Jamie Carragher supports Celtic
During a broadcast of CBS Sports’ coverage of the Champions League in 2024, the former England international was asked who he likes more.
His answer was simple, but the right one, as he said: “I’m Celtic.”
Carragher never played for Celtic or Rangers, instead spending his entire career at Liverpool.
The former defender played against the Hoops three times in his career, all of them in the UEFA Cup, including the famous quarter-final win during Martin O’Neill’s side’s run to the final.

Jamie Carragher changed his mind on the Celtic-Rangers debate
While he may have said the right answer in 2024, he had a different opinion four years earlier.
Steven Gerrard rejected the chance to return to Rangers in 2025, but was in charge of the Ibrox club in 2020.
Like he was on CBS, Carragher was asked if he preferred Celtic or Rangers during an Instagram Q and A.
That time, he said: “Right now it’s Rangers because of Steven Gerrard but as soon as Steven leaves it’ll be Celtic.”
Good to see that you made the right decision, Jamie.
