Wilfried Nancy and Ange Postecoglou have plenty of similarities in their style.
Nancy will become the new Celtic manager after the game against Dundee on Wednesday night following confirmation from Martin O’Neill.
After impressing in the MLS with CF Montreal and Columbus Crew, the move to Glasgow is the biggest step in the Frenchman’s career.
Having only managed outside of Europe, there are concerns about the 48-year-old’s pedigree, but this is the same sort of trepidation that was met by Postecoglou’s appointment.
In the end, the Australian won fans over with his mentality, and supporters will love that same sort of fire from their latest arrival.

Wilfried Nancy’s rejects underdog term in inspiring speech
Celtic fans first fell in love with Postecoglou when he dropped the infamous ‘we don’t stop’ line during an open-mic training session.
It showed that the Hoops weren’t there to make up the numbers and the Bhoys faithful can expect the same from the Frenchman.
During an interview in May 2025, Nancy took offence to his Columbus side being called underdogs and insisted that his side will always believe they can compete on any stage.

He said: “I respect myself too much to be an underdog. So I’m going to stay polite but I will never be an underdog and my team will never be an underdog.
“We can play Real Madrid. We can play Detroit. We can play Cincinnati. It’s a game. Let’s start the game and after that we’ll see.”
