The transfer rumour-mill continues as Celtic fans wait for Brendan Rodgers to add more quality to the side.

So far, Brendan Rodgers has added seven new faces at Celtic after unveiling Shin Yamada to the Parkhead support prior to the Newcastle United friendly.

With speculation linking Celtic to Louis Munteanu and others continuing, it may not be too long until Rodgers adds another player to the Hoops’ first-team.

And it appears that a player linked to Celtic at the start of July could be bought on the cheap as his club president admits his club are in financial dire straits.

Celtic target Etienne Youte Kinkoué could be available for less than £4.3m

Celtic were linked with Etienne Youte at the beginning of July as Brendan Rodgers searched for defensive cover.

The highly-rated youngster was once on the books of Inter Milan and Premier League side West Ham wanted to sign him for £10m last season.

But now, it appears that Celtic could get the young Frenchman for a knock-down price after Le Havre club president Jean-Michel Roussier admitted the Ligue 1 side face financial hardships.

Roussier said in The Scottish Sun, “We have to sell at a lower cost.

“We are a company that is losing money.”

Youte is a centre-back who learned his trade at Inter Milan before moving on to Olympiacos.

The 23-year-old has made 136 career appearances with 50 of those in the French top-flight.

Youte helped Le Havre gain promotion to Ligue 1 after helping the club win the second division in 2023. Now on Celtic’s radar, the defender could be ready to make the next step in his career.
