CFR Cluj boss Dan Petrescu has opened up on how Louis Munteanu is coping amid Celtic transfer speculation.
The young Romanian striker was linked to Celtic after reports suggested that Brendan Rodgers had a £6.9m bid thrown out last week.
However, it appears that Celtic may not be in for Munteanu after Cluj’s sporting director claimed that it is only a French club who have registered interest in the young forward.
However, despite that, Cluj boss Dan Petrescu has opened up on how Munteanu is coping amid rumours that Celtic and others could be about to buy him.

Cluj manager delighted with Louis Munteanu’s ‘behaviour’ amid Celtic rumours
Being linked to a club like Celtic could be enough to turn anyone’s head and cause a drop in performance or training levels.
However, it appears that Munteanu has been the ultimate professional according to Petrescu.
Petrescu said in the Daily Record, “I spoke to the player, the boy’s behaviour is beyond my expectations, I tell you honestly.
“He’s very serious, he wants to play, he doesn’t think he’s going to get injured. I was afraid to put him in, if he really has an offer, but he wants to play.
“I want Louis Munteanu to stay, but if he has a very good offer, I wish him luck.”
How Dan Petrescu would really feel if Munteanu left amid Celtic speculation
Cluj have an important Europa League qualifier against Lugano coming up on the 24th of July and Petrescu has shared how he would feel if Munteanu left before then.
Petrescu told Digisport, “I haven’t thought about the starting lineup yet, but it’s possible that Louis Munteanu will play from the start or come in along the way.
“I’ll talk to him, let’s see how he feels. If he leaves tomorrow, I have nothing to do and I wouldn’t be upset. I understand his situation, the club understands, he understands.
“I would be happy for him if he leaves, but if he stays, I would be even happier,”
This is one to watch as it appears that the young striker could leave the Romanian club sooner rather than later.
