It hasn’t been a good few days when it comes to transfers for Celtic.
Kelechi Iheanacho and Marcelo Saracchi won’t return, despite Martin O’Neill publicly wanting them back at Celtic, and now other targets are slipping away.
Aaron Malouda has been linked with Celtic; he is the son of Chelsea title-winner and former France international, Florent Malouda.
According to reports in France, the sought-after former Lille winger Malouda can be crossed off Celtic’s transfer wishlist, as he is now heading to Switzerland.

Aaron Malouda ‘could soon join’ Basel
French outlet L’Équipe have claimed that Basel ‘submitted a final offer’ for Malouda’s services in recent days.
While the transfer fee hasn’t been disclosed, it has been claimed that it is ‘on the verge of being accepted.’
Last season, Malouda scored nine goals and supplied four assists from both flanks for Sabah in Azerbaijan.

Camilo Duran’s brilliant start is an example of talent in Azerbaijan
Camilo Duran has made a brilliant start at Celtic, scoring in both pre-season games and proving that the club can bring in some promising talent.
But this isn’t a case of the champions of Scotland missing out on Malouda, but not getting the required players through the door.
It’s the same story as the previous campaign.
Celtic will fail to hit various targets, the Champions League qualifiers will come along, the club will fall flat on its face, and then Michael Nicholson will make a load of excuses as to why he can’t get deals done in a rare club-led interview.
Either way, there is an air of frustration around Celtic Park. That was proven by the rows and rows of empty seats for the pre-season friendly against Middlesbrough.
With Celtic’s opening game against Dundee weeks away, you just wonder how fans will react if nothing much has moved when Flag Day comes along.
