Alexandro Bernabei had enjoyed a season out on loan from Celtic at Internacional.
The Argentinian fullback struggled with life at the Bhoys as he failed to make an impact under Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers.
However, at Internacional Bernabei was given the chance to show what he could do and, to be fair to him, after a rocky start, he never let the Brazilian club down.
The 24-year-old became a mainstay in the Brazilian Serie A’s first team as Bernabei helped Internacional qualify for the Copa Libertadores.
But now that his Celtic exit has been made permanent, Bernabei has shared his ‘joy’ at being able to become a permanent member of Internacional Football Club.

Alexandro Bernabei explains the ‘strange experience’ of waiting to leave Celtic permanently
Bernabei told Internacional FC, “First of all, thank you all very much. I am very happy to be back home.
“It tells us the joy I have to be here. Let’s go for a year full of beautiful things and good things. It was a bit of a strange experience because I didn’t know what fate had in store for me but I tried to stay calm that things were going to go wrong.
“I was always sending messages, asking and that made me very anxious and want to know what was going on.
“The support I received from the good group that exists as a family, the coaching staff, the leaders, I think that they handled themselves and continue to handle themselves in a good way and with me they were all very good and kind.
“So that always made me feel united as part of the group.”
Celtic were confident of recouping a large fee for Bernabei but, as yet, it is not known how much the Parkhead club have received for their former defender.

The Argentinian has looked a different player in Brazil compared to the one Celtic fans witnessed in Bernabie’s performances in the green and white Hoops.
However, at Internacional, Bernabei has made a much greater impact at the Brazilian club than he ever did at Celtic.
