Asian Champions League get excited about Furuhashi to Celtic; post class footage
The news of a Kyogo Furuhashi move to Celtic is making waves in Scotland and Japan today.
It was an unexpected, but delightful, bit of transfer business confirmed by the club earlier.
Primarily it demonstrates that Celtic are indeed backing Ange Postecoglou in a big way. This is his signing, likely made possible by his presence.
Behind that though, we can also get excited about Furuhashi as a player.
He looks quite the attacking threat. If he settles in Scotland he has every chance of being a success here.
Considered one of the brightest talents emerging from the J1-League, there will be real intrigue about how he fares in Europe.

Like the arrival of Postecoglou, it’s a big deal for Asian football as a whole. That’s demonstrated well by the Asian Champions League getting excited about the move on their social media accounts this morning.
The official AFC Champions League Twitter account posted footage of him in action in the competition.
The left-winger scored three goals and created an assist in seven games during the 2020 edition of the tournament, helping Vissel Kobe reach the semi-finals. They lost at that stage to eventual winners, Ulsan Hyundai of South Korea.
The brief clip shows off his finishing ability, awareness, position and skill at the highest level of Asian football.
Most Celtic fans will know little about Furuhashi, but the experts reckon this is a fantastic signing. We spoke to Dan Orlowitz of The Japan Times earlier and he was full of praise for the 26-year-old.
Already performing well in the J1-League this season, we can only hope he hits the ground running at Celtic this summer. Big games are just around the corner.
