It’s time for Celtic to work their magic in the transfer market again.

From Scott Sinclair to Virgil van Dijk, whoever is in charge of Celtic, you can bet your bottom dollar that the business in the market is going to be of high quality.

It’s a key reason why Celtic have won 14 out of the last 15 titles, including four trophies in two seasons since Brendan Rodgers’ return to the Paradise dugout.

In years gone by, Scotland’s most successful club has shopped in England’s third tier, Japan, and the MLS for top, top talent.

But now it seems as though the scouts have thrown their net into the Russian pond, because that’s where an attacking midfielder has emerged as a potential transfer target.

Eduard Spertsyan on Celtic’s transfer radar

Eduard Spertsyan is an attacking midfielder from Armenia, plying his trade in the Russian Premier League for Krasnodar, who were founded in 2008.

It has been suggested by Mezzala Futbol and Scout that Spertsyan is ‘on the radar’ of Celtic this summer, but they aren’t the only ones.

Newly-promoted English Premier League side Leeds United were also mentioned, alongside Portuguese giants, Porto, as posted on Mezzala Futbol and Scout’s social media account.

‘(In) 24-25 He scored 11 goals and made 7 assists in 28 games in the Russian Premier League,’ wrote Mezzala Futbol and Scout.

‘He played a key role in the league title. He offers effective shots and creative passes with his right foot, but he loses the ball, and his defensive awareness are open to improvement. A player on the radar of Porto, Leeds United and Celtic’.

Spertsyan’s stats for Krasnodar as they are crowned champions of Russia

Krasnodar were crowned champions of Russia for the first time during the recently concluded season, beating giants Zenit Saint Petersburg to the main crown.

Spertsyan was a regular feature, mainly playing as an attacking midfielder, but also being deployed on the left and right on occasions.

Over the course of this season, he netted 11 goals, but overall, his career at Krasnodar, where he also came through the ranks, has seen him constantly prove to be a goalscoring threat.
