Celtic’s squad is as strong as it has ever been.
Brendan Rodgers returned last summer to a group of players that were dominating under Ange Postecoglou.
But he needed time to implement his own ideas and way of playing, hence why Celtic’s performances were a little iffy and off-colour on many occasions.
Despite that, Celtic still won the double and now they are flying high in the Premiership, as well as going strong in the Champions League.
In that sense, you have to question what type of business do the champions need to do when the January transfer window re-opens.
In terms of outgoings, there could be some youngsters heading out or senior players who just need that game time.
But, in terms of incomings, there aren’t many areas that need improving because Celtic’s bench is full of quality and some big names can’t even earn regular game time.
That’s why Allan Preston is baffled by who the club could sign in the winter.
Celtic told Luke McCowan is an example as to why they don’t need Lennon Miller
Luke McCowan joined Celtic from Dundee in the summer, and from the games he has played, he has been fantastic and a bit of a fan favourite.
But he isn’t playing regularly for Rodgers, not because he isn’t good enough, just because of the sheer quality ahead of him.
That’s why Preston is baffled by the suggestion that Celtic could sign Lennon Miller from Motherwell and he questioned ‘where does he play?’, as he told The Scottish Football Podcast.

“All the talk is about Lennon Miller going to Celtic,” said Preston. “Where does he play? Luke McCowan, who was so influential for Dundee, so influential, he was the main man for Dundee, can’t get a game.
“It’s a brilliant move for Luke McCowan and you wouldn’t turn that situation down, so he has done the right thing for himself and his family.
“But you think, would Lennon Miller go there and play in that Celtic team? I can’t see it with Luke McCowan there.”
Luke McCowan’s stats for Celtic
The 26-year-old has five goal involvements to his name, despite playing under 300 minutes in all competitions for his boyhood club.
Yes, that is expected to increase ahead of this gruelling winter schedule, but he still isn’t expected to be a regular starter.
That’s why there is concern about where Miller would play for Celtic because you would argue Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate, Arne Engels and Paulo Bernardo are ahead of McCowan, at this moment in time.
As posted by WhoScored, McCowan has played 267 minutes for Celtic this term.
