Boca Juniors have released a statement confirming that Marcelo Saracchi has been notified that he is up for sale.
The Argentine giants have bombed Saracchi out, making him train separately from the group upon his return from Celtic.
On loan in Glasgow last season, the defender established himself as a well-liked figure among the support, with Martin O’Neill taking a particular shine to him.
In the end, Saracchi directly contributed to Celtic’s league and cup double, leaving many supporters in favour of a permanent return.

Boca Juniors: Marcelo Saracchi ‘available for sale’
The statement confirmed that Agustín Martegani, Juan Barinaga, Juan Ramirez, Marcelo Weigandt and Mauricio Benitez are all “available for sale”.
The club added: “They have all been notified of the situation and are training separately from the main group.”

Boca paid a £1.6 million fee to bring Saracchi to La Bombonera in August 2023. He has also played for RB Leipzig, Galatasaray and River Plate.
When he came to Glasgow, Saracchi was out of favour at Boca after falling behind Lautaro Blanco in the pecking order before being banished from the squad after the Club World Cup.
His loan move concluded after 27 appearances, a number that would’ve been higher had he remained fit. He scored one goal, against Livingston, and managed two assists.
He has been a commendable backup for Kieran Tierney, often replacing him from the bench and injecting some energy in the later stages.
Despite reports that Saracchi wants to return to Celtic, his agent has constantly reaffirmed that the club have not made a formal offer.
In O’Neill’s most recent update, he said that Michael Nicholson had been in talks with Marcelo Tejera over the transfer.

Martin O’Neill’s latest update on Marcelo Saracchi
As the wait for both Saracchi and Kelechi Iheanaho continues, O’Neill gave an update after confirming that he wanted both to stay.
He said: “Michael Nicholson has spoken to Iheanacho’s agent at this minute. And I think it’s the same with Saracchi.
“I think both of them would like to come back, given the circumstances.
“Then it’s up to us to try and see if there are deals to be done. I would like to take them, but I think there’s a bit of work to be done.”
