Kasper Hogh is a wanted man in January.
Celtic are one of many clubs in the race for the Danish striker, who plays for Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt.
He was publicly pursued by Phillippe Clement’s Norwich City earlier this month, but after his brace against Manchester City in the Champions League, his profile was raised to an all-time high.
As a proven European goalscorer with a solid record in Norway, Hogh is an attractive prospect for the Hoops on paper.
But with many clubs on the hunt this winter, the club’s managing director has issued an update on his situation.

Bodo/Glimt provide update on Celtic target Kasper Hogh
Bodo are still in with a shout of qualifying for the knockout stages of Europe’s premier competition, but the odds are stacked against them.
They need to win away at Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening, and even that won’t be enough if other results don’t go their way.

In the likely event that they are eliminated, the race for Hogh is likely to accelerate.
Frode Thomassen oversees Bodo’s transfer business, and discussed Hogh with the Market Madness podcast this week.
He said: “We don’t have to sell anyone, but if the offer is good and the player would like to go, of course we will judge it and see.
“I think Kasper enjoys playing in Bodo, but we will see.
“Our focus right now is on [Atletico] Madrid. We never comment on links. We won’t focus on the day tomorrow.
“There are two big ways in football to earn money. One of them is performance on the pitch and one is to sell players.
“For us it has been important to focus on the performance part and having a strong team. Our main goal has not been to develop players to sell them.
“At the moment we are a good team. From the outside people see the players when they play.
“Kasper was the top scorer in the Europa League when we made a semi-final last spring but he is a really good footballer and a really good striker.
“But as a person he is quite special. A good team mate who carries good values and he is one of the players – when the culture is very important for the club you want the right people on the pitch and in the staff – it is essential, and Kasper is a leading star for that.”
How much should Celtic pay to sign Kasper Hogh?
Celtic target Kasper Hogh: A background
Hogh is 25, and had to bide his time to reach his current position.
Beginning his career at Randers, he spent time on loan in Iceland, but eventually moved to Norway when he was unable to break through in the Danish Superliga.
Just a single season at Stabaek was enough to earn him a move to Kjetil Knutsen’s side. Last season, he racked up seven goals as the club reached the semi-finals of the Europa League.
Celtic entered the race for Hogh this week, but he reportedly has interest from throughout Europe.
