Celtic’s January interest in Kasper Hogh has now been confirmed.

Reports emerged on Tuesday morning that the Hoops had made contact over a move for the striker, with less than a week remaining for Martin O’Neill to strengthen his squad.

Tomas Cvancara is already in the door, being signed from Borussia Monchengladbach on loan with an option to buy for around £7 million

O’Neill has, however, left the door open to bringing in another striker, and Hogh certainly stands out as an attractive option.

The Danish Bodo/Glimt striker is expected to move somewhere before the end of January.

Celtic interested in Kasper Hogh

The Herald and Sky Sports now report that Celtic are ‘monitoring’ the 25-year-old, but they aren’t the only ones in the race.

Phillippe Clement’s Norwich have been heavily linked – how sweet it would be to see Celtic take away his top target.

You’ve probably been hearing a fair bit about Hogh recently, given that he scored two in Bodo/Glimt’s stunning Champions League victory over Manchester City.

He also averaged a goal every 122 minutes in the Eliteserien in 2025, establishing himself as the club’s firm first-choice striker.

Ola Solbakken and Amahl Pellegrino are two Bodo forwards who came before Hogh and went on to make an impact elsewhere.

The club’s manager, Kjetil Knutsen, has also been linked to Celtic – but he looks set to extend his contract and remain in the Arctic Circle.

Hogh joined Bodo from Stabaek in August 2023, for a fee of just £580,000. You’d expect him to command a much higher fee this time around, with his contract expiring on the last day of the decade in 2029.

Norwich’s interest in the striker couldn’t have had much worse timing, given that his goals against City came just days later.

Celtic are one of several clubs to have pounced and eyed a late-window move to strengthen O’Neill’s title bid.
