Celtic are starting to make some moves in the transfer market.
The 2025 summer transfer window officially opened this week, and Brendan Rodgers has already added two names to his squad for next season.
The expected news of Kieran Tierney coming back has been confirmed, and Celtic have continued down that theme because goalkeeper Ross Doohan re-signed from Aberdeen on Friday.
But all of those are incomings, as the supporters will be wary about which key players could head for the exit door in the coming weeks and months.
Amid talk that Rodgers is going to bolster his wide areas by signing Benjamin Nygren, will he come in as a replacement? Or to challenge? Because one man is being seriously questioned.

Nicolas Kuhn has had his ‘head turned’ at Celtic
Nicolas Kuhn was heading for the Player of the Year in December because he was tearing everyone apart, and he was the best player in Scotland.
But then something changed, as Frank McAvennie thinks the ‘outstanding’ winger proceeded to leave more on the pitch during the second half of the campaign.
McAvennie told his Let Me Be Frank Podcast that Kuhn has had his ‘head turned’ and the door is open for him to leave if he wants to go.
Simon Houston stated: “Further up the park, it looks like they are going to sign the Swedish winger, Benjamin Nygren, from FC Nordsjælland. It looks like he is going to be heading to Celtic if you believe reports. So, it brings us on to the Nicolas Kuhn situation. He was an enigma and a mystery last year.”
McAvennie added: “He didn’t kick a ball last year. In the first part of the season, he was outstanding. For three or four months, I thought he was different class.
“Something has turned his head. I am all for people to do that. If they want to go, then they can go. Don’t kid the supporters on. You can’t go onto a pitch and not do it.
“I think he has left an awful lot on the pitch. I think he has walked off the pitch, and he has got a lot more energy in that locker of his because he could have done a lot more on the pitch. It’s my opinion.
“But what a player he is. What a player he turned out to be. Then, all of a sudden, he went back to the way he was in the first season.”
Kuhn’s 2024/25 stats for Celtic split into two halves
When you look at the overall picture, scoring 21 goals and supplying 14 assists is serious, serious business, even for a title-winning side.
But everyone knows most of that was produced during the first half of the campaign, and that’s why there is so much noise around Kuhn.
| Kuhn’s games from Aug-Dec 31 | Goals from Aug-Dec 31 | Assists from Aug-Dec 31 |
| 25 | 14 | 10 |
But then everything flipped on his head, despite Kuhn scoring at Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
| Kuhn’s games from Jan 1-end of the season | Goals from Jan 1-end of the season | Assists from Jan 1-end of the season |
| 26 | 7 | 4 |
When Kuhn turns it on, nobody can stop him, so perhaps you can give him the benefit of the doubt because he has shown more than something.
