The problem that Celtic have on their hands to replace Joe Hart is one that Brendan Rodgers must solve sooner rather than later.

The veteran goalkeeper was a smash hit with the Celtic supporters not just because of his performances on the park, but also his love for the club and the fans off it.

Hart built a superb rapport with the Celtic support over his three seasons at the club and that was evident by the send-off they gave him on Trophy Day last season.

Celtic have been linked with several goalkeepers over the last few weeks and now, it seems, that Brendan Rodgers has an eye on one we will soon be seeing in Germany at Euro 2024 this summer.

Celtic want Newcastle United’s Martin Dubravka

Martin Dubravka is a 35-year-old Slovakian international with 43 caps to his name. The Newcastle United veteran is the first-choice for manager, Francesco Calzona, and is likely to start their opening group game against Belgium next Monday.

And according to the Daily Record, Brendan Rodgers believes he can do a similar job that Joe Hart did at Celtic.

Dubravka ironically is the teammate of Marek Rodak who we recommended yesterday as one who could be a good option for Celtic.

However, for Newcastle, Dubravka only came into his own a third of the way through the season as Eddie Howe seemed to prefer Nick Pope at the start of the season.

However, a shoulder injury sustained in a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United by Pope handed Dubravka the No. 1 jersey and he featured 30 times for the Tyneside club keeping eight clean sheets.

Dubravka is said to be looking for first-team football next season and Rodgers could hand him that opportunity now that Hart has officially left the club.

With Celtic appearing in the new-look Champions League group stages next season, the temptation of European football and the opportunity to add to his two Slovakian titles and Slovakian Cup could be enough to entice a move to the Glasgow giants.
