Celtic target Cameron Carter-Vickers is open to pursuing a career away from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
As we’ve discussed on the website previously, the defender has been linked with a move to the Bhoys for a number of weeks now, via journalists across the Atlantic.
The Daily Record is now quoting a ‘well-placed source’ on the situation. They reckon the eight-cap United States international is ready to leave Spurs for Celtic or Bournemouth after years out on loan at different English league clubs.
The source said: “Cameron is looking for a new challenge and a few clubs are interested. Celtic and Bournemouth are the most serious right now. He’s looking to get something sorted as soon as he can with the season just around the corner.”
Well, that sounds perfect because Celtic need to get something sorted as soon as possible.
Cameron Carter-Vickers to Celtic is a promising rumour
Carter-Vickers is a potential problem solver in the Bhoys defence.
The club badly needs a central defender or two in the door. The 23-year-old has both the ability to make an impact in Scotland and the profile of signing that is appealing to Celtic.
The Record say he could cost as much as £5m. But that sounds about right. It’s not too expensive. There’s scope for eventual profit if he becomes a big hit in Glasgow and progresses with the United States national team.

With Kristoffer Ajer heading for an exit and Christopher Jullien still recovering from a long-term injury, we need a guy like Carter-Vickers, or the other reported defensive target Carl Starfelt, to come in and help steady the ship.
I’m all for this one.
