Celtic and Rangers have had plenty of battles over the years and once again have gone up against each other.

While the first Glasgow derby takes place this weekend, there’s another fight to win the signature of Bojan Miovski.

Since joining Girona, Miovski has struggled for form and been open to returning to the Scottish Premiership.

Both teams are in desperate need of a prolific goal scorer and now the North Macedonia international has seemingly picked his next destination.

Bojan Miovski likely to snub Celtic for Rangers

According to Sky Sports, Girona have given permission for Miovski to speak to Rangers.

The La Liga side are willing to let him explore a move elsewhere one year after his £6.8m transfer and is in talks.

Personal terms are yet to be agreed and the two clubs still need to agree on a price, but the 26-year-old is open to heading to Ibrox.

There is still time for Celtic to hijack the bid but that needs to happen sooner rather than later or face watching their rivals strengthen in a position they also need improvement in.

Celtic need a new striker

Tuesday night’s loss to Kairat Almaty was the clearest indicator that the Hoops need some more firepower up top.

One target, Louis Munteanu, was fined for going AWOL in a bid to move abroad but no approach has been made by the Bhoys.

Adam Idah, Johnny Kenny, Shin Yamada, and Callum Osmand are all yet to prove themselves in the role and after failing to score in over 200 minutes against Kairat, that need has become even greater.
