It only feels like yesterday that Celtic were lifting the Premiership title against St Mirren on trophy day.

But the new Premiership season is less than a month away, and the Celtic squad under Brendan Rodgers is still shaping up with a lot of activity.

In total, 14 deals have been concluded, including Nicolas Kuhn leaving for Como in a £16.2 million deal, in what could be Celtic’s big sale of the 2025 summer transfer window.

But from the biggest sale to possibly the lowest transfer exit of the summer…

Celtic are pushing to sell Hyeokkyu Kwon

Even though Hyeokkyu Kwon has been at Celtic for several years, he is yet to taste first-team football, but he has played in the Premiership for Hibernian and St Mirren.

Neither of those loan spells seems to have helped his cause in becoming a first-team player in Glasgow because the club is actively looking to sell the 24-year-old, according to FUSSBALLEUROPA.

The report states that Austria Vienna are keen on signing the midfielder, and there is also ‘considerable interest’ in the Asian market.

After signing for Celtic in a £1 million deal in 2023, the report further suggests that Kwon could be sold for as little as ‘£172k’.

How did Kwon fare at Hibernian last season?

Hibernian had a mixed campaign last time out, including immense pressure on David Gray for several months.

But Hibs were one of the stronger teams towards the finishing line, as Kwon played a total of 21 matches, and only accumulated just over 1,000 minutes for the Edinburgh-based club.

Given that Kwon didn’t stand out for Hibs, it is probably the right time to move him on, even if Rodgers is looking for more bite in the middle of the park.

There is a lot of pressure on Callum McGregor, and he could do with some help in that number six role, but Kwon isn’t going to be that guy.
