Celtic look like they are starting their transfer work early this summer.

The Parkhead club will be eager to strengthen the Celtic first-team not just because they lost out on a treble this season but to also continue their progression in the Champions League.

Brendan Rodgers negotiated Celtic’s path out of the league phase of UEFA’s elite competition for the first time since 2013 and with a third-round qualifier coming up, the Hoops boss will be keen to make the lucrative group again.

It appears that Rodgers is eyeing his next transfer move as reports suggest the Celtic manager is keen on a player who is also wanted by Liverpool, Everton and PSG.

Celtic want Red Star Belgrade’s Veljko Milosavljevic with PSG in the mix

Celtic are said to be keeping an eye on Red Star Belgrade’s teenage sensation Veljko Milosavljevic.

The Celtic Way reports the £9m rated central defender is also wanted by Liverpool, Everton and Champions League finalists, PSG.

Red Star are said to want at least £9m for the Serbian U19 international.

Whilst the report says Celtic won’t pay that price, ‘hope’ of first-team football and Champions League exposure might convince the youngster to make the Parkhead switch and use his time in Glasgow as a stepping stone to a bigger league.

Who is Veljko Milosavljevic and why are Celtic interested?

Milosavljevic is highly-rated in Serbia and at just 17, has been capped at U16 (8), U17 (18) and U19 (8) level for Serbia.

Making his first-team debut for Red Star in a 6-0 win over Trayal last season, Milosavljevic already has 19 starts under his belt in the Serbian top flight.

The youngster has also featured in the UEFA Youth League with 11 appearances against the likes of Inter Milan, Monaco and Barcelona.

Versatile, Milosavljevic is mainly a centre-back but has also been deployed as a right back and defensive midfielder.
