Celtic have been interested in Mathias Kvistgaarden for what seems like an age now.
Kvistgaarden has been on Celtic’s radar for over two years now and it appears that he could be on his way out of Brondby this summer.
Kvistgaarden said goodbye to Brondby fans after the final game of the Superliga season where the Danes beat AGF 3-2.
And now, it appears that Kvistgaarden’s ‘likely’ destination has been revealed after Celtic had a bid rejected in January.

Celtic could get Mathias Kvistgaarden deal done ‘tomorrow’ but Bundesliga club lead the chase
Journalist Scott Burns was discussing Celtic’s summer transfer plans when he let slip where Kvistgaarden’s latest destination is ‘likely’ to be.
Burns told the Daily Record Hotline, “I think he would be one that would be on there [Celtic’s list], but my information just now is that it’s more likely to be Eintracht Frankfurt than Glasgow Celtic.
“But the door has not been closed, a deal’s not been done. Celtic have the money to [get a deal done]. If Celtic really wanted to do that deal they could go and do it tomorrow or when the transfer window opens.”
It’s clear Celtic have the cash to outbid Frankfurt so it all depends if the speculation and rumour of ongoing interest from Rodgers is accurate to make this move happen.
What a Danish football expert once told Celtic about Mathias Kvistgaarden
When the news of Celtic’s interest in Kvistgaarden broke, 67 Hail Hail contacted Danish football expert Toke Theilade back in August 2023.
Here is what Theilade told us, “He is a really entertaining small striker. Only 174 cm, but really fast and athletic. His preferred celebration after goals is acrobatics. He is super aggressive and works hard in the press at all times.
“This also earns their team some easy goals as he is good at conquering the ball. He is technically good and can dribble in small spaces. He is also good in the passing game. Unfortunately, his finishing could use some work and that’s why he hasn’t scored as many goals as he could.
“He is versatile and can play as both the front striker, second striker and on the wing. At Brøndby he has mostly been used as either second striker or winger. He got his big breakthrough in the spring and has been one of the best players in the team this season.
“He’s the kind of player that is just really fun to have on your team because he is always giving 100% for the team, and his passion and winning mentality are just obvious.
“It would hurt us to lose him but I think Celtic would be a great move for him. As a type, he reminds me a little about Teemu Pukki although he is smaller (but faster) as they are both versatile, aggressive and hard working with a good eye for goal and the ability to participate in link-up as well as go one-v-one with defenders.”
This is clearly a story that is set to rumble on this summer but it appears Celtic will need to move quickly if they want to bring Kvistgaarden to the club.
