Ask any Celtic fan if Adam Idah was going to leave the club this summer, they would’ve laughed you away.
Despite his goalless start to the 2025/26 season, Brendan Rodgers has still praised Idah and has played him in the majority of games so far.
However, Celtic fans were left in shock after Sky Sports revealed that Swansea City are in talks to sign Idah.
A further update stated that a £7m fee has been agreed for the Republic of Ireland international and a medical could take place in the next 48 hours.
Rodgers will need a replacement up top and has already identified someone whom Kasper Schmeichel knows very well.

Celtic interested in signing Kasper Dolberg
Anthony Joseph has been the man behind the Idah news and has also revealed that the Bhoys are considering Kasper Dolberg as his replacement.
Dolberg is at Anderlecht and has been identified as the Hoops’ “number one target” to replace Swansea-bound Idah.
The forward has played with Schmeichel at Nice and Anderlecht, as well as in the Denmark national team.
Schmeichel grabbed his first career assist where his goal kick was brought down and finished by the 27-year-old.
Kasper Dolberg vs Adam Idah stats 2024/25 season
For all of Idah’s criticisms, it’s worth remembering that he did score 20 goals in all competitions last season.
But, unlike the current Celtic number nine, his potential replacement already has five goals from eight games this season and found the back of the net more times in the 2024/25 campaign too.
| Stats | Kasper Dolberg | Adam Idah |
| Games | 45 | 54 |
| Goals | 24 | 20 |
| Assists | 3 | 1 |
The most eye-catching stat is that Dolberg managed to make more goal contributions in fewer games, suggesting that in this Celtic side, where he will get more chances, he could end up having a 30-goal season.
