Celtic fans simply will not like Marcelo Saracchi transfer update about staying in Argentina

Celtic are doing what they do best, and that’s frustrating and annoying the fans.

This Marcelo Saracchi deal should have been wrapped up a long time ago, because Celtic want to re-sign him, he wants to return, and Boca Juniors want to sell.

But Celtic’s constant need to go down the cheap road might come back to bite them again, because reports are emerging that Saracchi could now stay put in Argentina.

This isn’t a case of the left-back staying at Boca; they still want him gone. But Independiente are looking to make a move for the domestic double winner at Celtic.

Independiente put Marcelo Saracchi on their transfer shortlist

While Celtic dilly-dally with trying to bring Saracchi back to Glasgow, the interest in him continues to grow elsewhere.

According to El Crack Deportivo, Independiente have put the out-of-favour Boca star on their shortlist, as manager Gustavo Quinteros looks for a new left-back.

It has been suggested by the Argentinean outlet that, following the departure of Milton Valenzuela, the club wants to bring in a ‘top-quality fullback’, with club and international experience.

This is where Saracchi comes into the picture. An offer hasn’t been made yet, according to the reports, but the interest in his services is ‘concrete.’

Saracchi could be off Celtic’s radar ‘in the next few weeks’

Pre-season has already started for Celtic, all the coaching staff are in the building, but there have been no new signings.

While Saracchi wouldn’t be considered a new arrival, because he was on loan last season, at least it would be a boost to the squad and Martin O’Neill.

Either way, the reports in Argentina suggest that Independiente will make their call on Saracchi ‘in the next few weeks’, so that still gives Celtic time to get this deal done and save themselves the headache of getting verbally bashed by the fanbase, again!
