Celtic and Lennon Miller have been mentioned in the same conversation extensively over the last few days as speculation continues to swirl surrounding the Motherwell star’s future.

When talent crops up in the Scottish Premiership, fans and pundits will inevitably join the dots if they end up consistently showing a level of performance befitting of attention from elsewhere.

Unsurprisingly, Lennon Miller has been suggested as a potential Celtic target by Gordon Dalziel, among others, with the 62-year-old claiming he would be a worthwhile investment in the future by Brendan Rodgers.

On a different token, Cammy Bell believes Miller could cost Celtic up to £8 million amid his excellent start to the campaign, which has yielded four goals and three assists in 18 appearances.

Now, further details have come to light regarding the Bhoys’ stance on a potential move and how much it may cost to land the rising Scottish Premiership star.

How much Celtic may need to pay for Lennon Miller

According to Mailsport, Motherwell will hold out for a fee in the region of £4 million for Miller as he continues to light up the Scottish top-flight with mature displays in the engine room.

Celtic are ‘admirers’ of the Scotland Under-21 international and are ‘expected’ to make a move for his services in January. However, they haven’t yet made an official approach despite social media suggesting to the contrary in recent days.

Rangers are also keeping tabs on his situation, while Liverpool could spark a fight for the talent as competition for his signature heats up. Newcastle United have also been credited with a passing interest, but that notion is said to be wide of the mark.

Any deal that sees Miller leave Fir Park would reportedly eclipse David Turnbull’s £3.25 million move to Celtic in 2020, which remains a record sale for the Steelmen.

Celtic won’t want to miss out on Lennon Miller

Extensive noise has surrounded Miller’s rise at Motherwell since he broke into the senior fold circa 2022, with a nationwide understanding that the 18-year-old is someone with the potential to be a special talent.

Primarily operating in an advanced midfield role, the Scot has created 22 chances on league duty this season alongside delivering 16 successful crosses and taking on 20 shots, per Fotmob.

At the other end, his statistics also stand up to scrutiny. Miller has won 56 duels across the campaign, showing he isn’t afraid to mix it when needed in the engine room.

Celtic are always in the market for talent with sell-on value. On this occasion, there is also a homegrown carrot being dangled that the club won’t want to miss out on. Over the next few months, supporters will be keeping a close eye on his situation.
