The Lennon Miller to Celtic chat has been going on for what seems like an age now for the Parkhead support.

The Motherwell youngster has been in excellent form over the last couple of seasons and it wasn’t too long ago Miller was linked with a move to Celtic Park.

Since then, however, the pundit chat surrounding the highly-rated youngster making a move to Celtic has not gone away.

Charlie Mulgrew wanted Celtic to ‘sign him now’ after Miller’s impressive Fir Park performance in the Hoops’ 3-1 win last season.

Andy Walker believes that Miller has ‘got the potential’ to play for the Bhoys and even Jim Duffy told Celtic back in April they must ‘sign him up’.

The chat resumed last night as Cammy Bell suggested a price that Motherwell could potentially charge Celtic for Miller and it left radio host, Gordon Duncan gobsmacked.

Celtic told Lennon Miller could cost them £8m

Bell told Superscoreboard, “No, listen, I think Celtic can absolutely afford him, yes. But again, is it within Celtic’s business model, does Lennon Miller fit into that?

“Because I genuinely think Motherwell can potentially get seven, eight million pounds.”

Duncan: “Seriously?”

Bell: “Yeah, yeah, I really do. I think European teams, they’ll be looking at him. His age, the numbers that he’s producing, and no disrespect to it, but for a Motherwell team. So I think there’s loads.

“And again, we’ve had a number of players who have moved on to big clubs in Europe. So there’s that interest in Scottish football at the moment. So I think Celtic would have real competition on their hands trying to get him.”

Pundit backtracks but admits Celtic would be a ‘really good move’ for Lennon Miller

“I think it would be a really good move for Celtic,” Bell continued, “Because he’s a top, top player and will become a better player.

“But I genuinely think he’s a sort of, I would say six, maybe not eight, six and seven million pounds and does that fit into Celtic’s business model that then they think they can sell him on for £20m in three, four years time.”

Celtic will pay that kind of money if they believe that the player has the potential to develop and become a key player for the team and an investment for the future.

The Parkhead club have already proven that with how much Celtic paid for Adam Idan and Arne Engels.

There is no doubt Miller is a great young talent and has a bright future in the game and should he become available, Brendan Rodgers would surely take a look.
