Any lingering talk of Bobby Clark ending up at Celtic now looks all but over after an update by journalist Pete O’Rourke.
We told how Derby County had agreed a deal worth around £6 million with RB Salzburg for the midfielder last week which meant Celtic’s hopes of landing the former Liverpool youngster faded.
And now, the transfer saga is set to end as the next stage of Clark’s move to The Rams kicks into gear.
Lots of interest in Arne Engels. But will he leave Celtic?

Celtic transfer links to Clark never progressed
Clark’s name generated plenty of discussion among supporters when reports suggested Celtic were first interested in bringing him to Glasgow.
But while the speculation gathered momentum there never seemed like any sign of Celtic moving towards an agreement with Salzburg.
Instead, Derby have quietly gone about their business after watching Clark impress during his loan spell at Pride Park.
The Championship club’s willingness to pay £6 million tells its own story. They have seen the player up close and personal for a full season and clearly believe he is worth making Clark one of their major signings of the summer.
Derby move effectively ends Bobby Clark Celtic speculation
Indeed, no transfer deal is over until a player signs on the dotted line, but a completed medical would leave very little room for any late move by Celtic.
Clark will continue the next stage of his career with Derby with previous transfer links with Celtic now looking dead in the water.
With the summer window now open and Celtic fans still waiting on the first signing, they can now move on from Clark as the young midfielder ends any hopes of a Parkhead switch this week.
