Celtic’s capture of RB Salzburg’s Bobby Clark means that Liverpool are in for a hefty payday.
Celtic have agreed a £6m deal to bring Clark to Paradise in January as the 20-year-old midfielder looks for a quick return to the UK.
Liverpool sold Clark to RB Salzburg in a £10m deal in August as the young England U21 international looked for first team football.
And as part of the deal, the Anfield club inserted a huge 17.5% sell-on clause which means that when Clark joins Celtic in January, a nice cheque is heading Liverpool’s way from the Austrian club.

Liverpool earn a cool £1m+ as part of the Celtic deal for Bobby Clark
When the £6m deal to bring Clark to Celtic is officially signed, sealed and delivered, Liverpool will earn over £1m as part of the agreement.
The BBC reported back in August 2024, as well as receiving £10m for the young midfielder, Liverpool negotiated a 17.5% sell-on clause for Clark.
Now ready to make his next career step at Celtic, Clark delivers another, albeit small, payday for the current Premier League champions.
What RB Salzburg’s sporting director said about Celtic-bound Bobby Clark bodes well
When Clark made his £10m move from Liverpool to RB Salzburg, their sporting director Bernhard Seonbuchner was delighted to capture the young talent.
Speaking to the RB Salzburg website last August, Seonbucher said, “Bobby Clark is a highly talented player with huge potential, who will improve further with us due to his ability.
“He has developed mostly at Liverpool, has played in the first team there and knows our coach well, as a result.
“That is definitely a reason we have managed to sign Bobby for FC Red Bull Salzburg.”
It appears that Celtic are getting a talented youngster who was highly rated at Salzburg and at just 20, he can only flourish at Celtic Park.
