Celtic are expected to officially announce the signing of left-back Alexandro Bernabei today after he arrived in Glasgow to put the finishing touches to his transfer from Lanus, The Herald reports.

The paper say he actually arrived in the country yesterday and will now sign up on a five-year deal for a fee of £3.75m.

Celtic’s total spend over the next couple of days could well top £10m, with The Herald also reporting Jota will return to the city this weekend ahead of pre-season training next week.

Celtic have already agreed a £6.4m transfer with Benfica and Jota will finally complete the deal over the next couple of days after being given time off for holidays.

Added to the permanent move for Cameron Carter-Vickers, who has signed for a guaranteed fee of £6m plus add-ons, the club have already made a significant outlay in the early stages of this transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou is expected to do more business too with midfielders and centre-backs continuing to be linked with a move to Glasgow.

Ben Siegrist has also been added to the squad on a free transfer, providing competition for Joe Hart.

It’s exciting stuff for supporters, who have been craving the club to be as organised as this in a summer window for years.

After the chaos of last year, it appears Postecoglou very much has the club aligned on his vision and goals for the new season.

Celtic are undoubtedly investing in the manager and backing him heavily, which is what everyone was hoping we’d see from the board.

Postecoglou has an excellent core squad to work with in pre-season, with the club flying off to Austria in early July for a training camp.

And there’s plenty of time to add more quality before the end of August, should it be needed.

In other news, Ben Siegrist confidently addresses the one concern about his Celtic signing.
