Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is confident that the club will make one or two signings by the end of the coming week.

The Bhoys have already signed up Carl Starfelt, Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada, all of whom have now joined the squad.

However, as we all know, more are needed.

No-one knows that better than the manager himself, who has been leading the way on messaging that big transfers are needed.

Now, Postecoglou sees a bit of light on the horizon.

Asked if he expected more players to follow Starfelt and Furuhashi’s arrival, he told The Glasgow Times: “That’s the plan. I’m pretty confident, we are all working very hard to get at least one or two into the club by the end of next week.”

Who could new Celtic signings be?

Every time Postecoglou has provided some sort of timeline for signings it’s been followed up on this summer.

He’s given this “by the end of the week” patter before. So fans can be expectant based on his latest.

As for who they will be, that’s more mysterious. Joe Hart and Aurelio Buta are the names most strongly linked with Celtic recently but the manager refused to be drawn on specific targets.

Both would address problem positions at the moment. Our goalkeeping situation and right-back issues have been the most talked-about team issues by far in the early stages of the season.

Hart has been a back-up goalie at Tottenham Hotspur, while Buta emerged through the Benfica academy before going on to shine for Royal Antwerp in Belgium.

The pair would be automatic upgrades on the options Postecoglou currently has at Celtic.
