Celtic set to offload duo in £6.5m double summer transfer sale

Celtic’s summer transfer work is already underway.

Recruitment chief Paul Tisdale is under the microscope after a lacklustre January window but options will have been put to manager Brendan Rodgers for the positions Celtic need to strengthen.

A striker is an obvious one with Kyogo still not replaced with a signing despite Daizen Maeda flying in the league and chasing records this term.

And there are other spots across the pitch Celtic will be after including a central defensive midfield player, left-back deputy for Kieran Tierney and maybe a centre-half or two and a winger.

The latter positions are currently filled by the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty, Nicolas Kuhn and Jota while other players are also available to choose from like Maik Nawrocki and Liam Scales or Maeda and Yang.

Celtic will greenlight Luis Palma permanent sale

But both will be lightened in the summer when Celtic look to offload two players currently already out on loan at this moment in time.

Luis Palma is out at Olympiacos right now having been allowed to move to the Greek club near the end of the January transfer window.

The Honduran international has done well on loan and chipped in on international duty recently, too, to show Celts what they have been missing.

But with a future fee of around £3.5million on the table should a permanent deal be sought, Rodgers will greenlight that exit to free space in the squad.

FC Twente want to keep Celtic loan star Gustaf Lagerbielke

The same can be said for FC Twente’s desire to bring Gustaf Lagerbielke on a permanent basis having signed him on an initial loan deal that could become worth around £3m to the Hoops.

The Swedish defender, 24, has played 28 times for the Eredivisie club this season and netted twice and provided three assists in all competitions including in the Europa League vs Malmo and Bodo/Glimt respectively.

Twente want to keep Lagerbielke but their sporting director admitted he’s not sure what the future holds.

Lagerbielke has played his last Celtic match, it seems, so will be all about finding his next destination beyond the summer.
