Celtic have made a late move to sign up Luke McCowan as Brendan Rodgers looks to finish the summer transfer window with as strong a squad as possible.
McCowan has been linked with a move to the Bhoys throughout the summer but so far the interest has been pretty tentative with no bids offered.
However, after finding out West Ham United don’t want to part with Andy Irving, it seems Celtic are ready to make their move for the Dundee talent.
Celtic ‘hopeful’ of landing Luke McCowan before deadline
BBC Sport Scotland report that the Dens Park club have received an offer for the midfielder. No deal has yet been agreed.
It’s said that Celtic are ‘hopeful’ of confirming the move before the 11pm deadline, with other transfers pursued on deadline day.
McCowan was a standout on Tayside last term, scoring ten goals and assisting five more to help Dundee earn a top-six finish under Tony Docherty.

How much Luke McCowan could cost Celtic
Previous reports indicate Celtic would have to pay as much as £1m for McCowan with Dundee previously rejecting six-figure offers from Hibernian.
That’s clearly well within the budget available to the Scottish champions and could represent a bargain if McCowan performs a strong squad depth role across the coming season.
Celtic are also pursuing late moves for Arne Engels and Auston Trusty, both of whom are said to have completed medicals ahead of transfer announcements.
A triple deadline day flurry of activity would delight Celtic supporters and manager Brendan Rodgers, who has spoken publicly on the need for reinforcements to his squad.
