Celtic aren’t interested in selling midfielder Matt O’Riley in the upcoming January transfer window, according to a new report.
In addition, it’s stated that the Danish international himself is settled at Celtic and is happy to remain at the Bhoys for the time being despite big clubs tracking his situation.
The news comes in the Boxing Day edition of The Daily Record, a few days after Sky Sports reported that Inter Milan and several English Premier League sides were chasing his signature.
With Celtic not keen on doing a deal, even at potentially record money, and O’Riley not pushing for the move, the chances are good that he will remain with the Bhoys until the summer at least.

He recently signed a new contract that commits him to the club until 2027 so Celtic hold all the cards on a potential transfer.
It would be crazy for the club to sell the team’s most effective player so far this season amid a high-value title fight with Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
Big sales at Celtic generally occur during the summer months and that’s the correct strategy to take.
That’s even more true in O’Riley’s situation. The midfielder could end up making the Denmark squad for next year’s Euro 2024 tournament and if he performs well there, his transfer value is only going to increase.
But it’s his ability to shine in the second half of the season that is so important. O’Riley has scored nine goals and assisted eight more so far already in 2022/23 and looks primed to kick on with more big contributions.
He could be the kind of performer that makes the difference in delivering success this season.
