Celtic are making early moves in the summer transfer window.
Kieran Tierney has arrived on a five-year deal after his Arsenal contract expired, while Ross Doohan is due to sign for nothing as third choice goalkeeper.
Celtic will need a new winger and striker this summer, particularly in the case that Brentford-linked Daizen Maeda is sold in the next weeks and months.
We know that FC Nordsjælland star Benjamin Nygren is on Celtic’s radar, and Sky Sports have reported that the Hoops have been granted permission to proceed with transfer talks.
It was stated by The Scottish Sun that £2m will be required to prise Nygren away from FC Nordsjælland, given he only has six months left on his contract.
But Celtic may not even have to spend as much as that.

Nygren could cost Celtic just £1.7m
It’s being reported by Danish outlet Tipsbladet that Benjamin Nygren will be sold for a price of 15 million Danish Kroner.
Converting that into GBP delivers a price of just over £1.7m, which is a hefty £300k less than what The Scottish Sun were claiming.
That’s pennies for Celtic given they have £65.4m in the bank, as per the club’s latest financial report issued in February 2025.
Celtic acting efficiently in the transfer market
As mentioned, Maeda is attracting Premier League interest and Turkish giants Fenerbahce have also shortlisted the Japanese star.
Moreover, while links have died down recently, the likes of Newcastle United and Leeds United have been credited with an interest in Nicolas Kuhn.
And given Jota’s long-term injury, Celtic are doing the right thing in trying to guarantee the signing of an exciting winger early in the market.
Nygren has stated that he wants to leave FC Nordsjælland, so this pursuit is a no-brainer for the Hoops.
The 23-year-old Swedish international has made 107 appearances for FC Nordsjælland, scoring 35 goals and providing eight assists.
