There is pressure on the Celtic board more than ever before, ahead of the January transfer window re-opening.
Celtic are still recovering from the mess of the 2025 summer transfer window, which, in the end, played a part in why Brendan Rodgers left in October.
One of the deals Celtic concluded was selling Adam Idah to Swansea City, just after the Hoops missed out on Champions League qualification.
Idah divided opinion in Glasgow, and given Celtic’s current struggles up front, Peter Grant has always kept his stance on the departed striker pretty clear.

Adam Idah under Martin O’Neill
Speaking on Go Radio, Grant suggested that it was Rodgers who allowed Idah to leave for Swansea in a £6 million deal.
The Hoops hero added that, if Idah had played under Martin O’Neill during his interim spell in charge, then he would have ‘made him a player.’
Johnny Kenny showed life under O’Neill, but in the bigger picture, he is struggling and isn’t looking or playing better than what Idah used to produce in the famous green and white colours.
“I have got to ask Brendan Rodgers that,” said Grant about letting Idah go. “But if they are saying Brendan did it, and Brendan allowed it to happen.
“He shouldn’t have been out of the door anyway. He didn’t start the season well. You have got to look at it. It was an international break (after the 2024/25 season finished). Then he gets two weeks more off than the other players did.
“He came back, and he was sluggish. He looked really off it. I must admit. But I still wouldn’t have sold him.
“I am telling you this, they would have won more games so far this season, even when Martin was there. Martin would have made him a player. He would have given him that confidence to get into the box. Scoring goals. He’s powerful. Martin’s type of striker. All these things.
“There is no doubt with Idah, with his age and everything, there is a player there. You have just got to trust him and keep him on the pitch. That’s what Martin did with players. He kept the strikers on the pitch.”
