Lennon Miller has returned to pre-season with Motherwell ahead of the new Premiership campaign, but where does his future lie?
Celtic are interested in Miller, and with the 2025 summer transfer window opening last month, the champions have been pretty busy in getting deals done.
Four players have been added to Brendan Rodgers’ squad for the 2025/26 season, including the returning Kieran Tierney.
But a bona fide midfielder is yet to be signed, and many wonder if Miller will be that guy following his breakthrough season last time out.

The transfer fee that would enable Celtic to sign Lennon Miller
Many think Celtic need to add more quality to their midfield because Arne Engels divided opinion last season, Reo Hatate is injured, and captain Callum McGregor just needs help.
Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Roger Hannah thinks ‘£4.5 million’ would be enough for Celtic to secure Miller’s talents.
The Scottish journalist also noted how Motherwell’s new manager, Jens Berthel Askou, knows that his star midfielder has already played his last competitive match for the club.
“Definitely agree with that (Lennon Miller would be some signing for Celtic),” stated Hannah. “I think they got a tickle in January. He has remained at Motherwell.
“If you listen to Jens Berthel, the new Motherwell manager, when he was asked about Lennon Miller, I think he knows that he isn’t going to see Lennon Miller playing in a competitive game for Motherwell.
“He will go somewhere. Interesting listening to his dad, Lee, talk about the possibility of him going overseas. Following the path of an Aaron Hickey, Josh Doig, Lewis Ferguson, Gilmour and players like that. That kind of option in his career.
“But, if Celtic were first to the table and paid Motherwell £4.5 million, and offered Lennon Miller the appropriate salary. It would be very difficult to turn down.”
New Motherwell boss doesn’t rule out Miller sale
At the age of 18, what is crucial for Miller is that he continues to develop, and the only way to do that is to keep playing on a regular basis.
Would the recently-capped Scotland international get that at Celtic? If so, then there is no reason why the champions of Scotland shouldn’t push for his signature.
And whilst his new manager, Askou, has just walked through the door at Fir Park, he isn’t ruling out a possible sale for the teenage star.
“There probably is [interest in him], but it’s not been top of my mind,” Askou told BBC Sport.
“I’ll probably need to get that update myself. I know he’s a fantastic player, he’s just gone into the national team, he’s a big profile for Scottish football.
“For sure, he’s going to face a fantastic international career, then we’ll see over time if it’s going to be this summer that he will take the next step.
“I haven’t met him yet because he’s got a few extra days off, so I think it would be fair for me to meet him first and have some good discussions with him before I answer any specific questions about his future.”
