Celtic bid of €3.5m rejected for Cagliari’s Obert

It has been reported by Calcio Casteddu that Celtic made a €3.5m bid for Cagliari’s left-sided defender Adam Obert.

The Serie A club rejected this proposal, however, and it is said they value the Slovakian at €6m and over, meaning the Hoops will need to reconsider their offer.

Cagliari fans have been having their say on the news, and the majority would be very happy to see the back of Obert as they slammed his ability.

Go Ahead Eagles winger Jakob Breum picks up injury

According to De Stentor, Go Ahead Eagles winger and Celtic target Jakob Breum has picked up a minor injury.

Breum played the full 94 minutes on Sunday against PSV Eindhoven for a chance to win the Johan Cruyff Shield.

But PSV won 2-1 and Breum appears to have picked up an ankle knock amid serious interest from the Hoops.

It means he will miss Friday night’s game between the Eagles and Fortuna Sittard as the new Eredivisie season gets underway.

Celtic back in the Japanese market?

The Daily Record have claimed that a move by Celtic to sign another player from the Japanese transfer market is in the offing.

They stated: “The Hoops are spinning a number of plates on the transfer front and it will all come down to where they feel they can get best value for money.

“They’ve not been strangers to the Japanese market in recent years and Record Sport understands another potential move is still in the offing, while the club are also watching other European-based players in person.”
