CFR Cluj owner on Louis Munteanu

CFR Cluj owner Nelutu Varga has revealed a French club are the only team to register serious interest in striker Louis Munteanu.

It was reported that Celtic had a £6.9m bid rejected by the Romanian club for the forward who netted 25 goals last season.

But that has been thrown into doubt by Varga, who said: “It’s a club in France that, up until now, is the most serious in terms of professionalism.

“I understand that they will resolve some issues these days, then we will sit down at the negotiating table, so that the boy can go for a medical examination.

“I never mentioned the name of the club. I only said France. I only said that it is a top team from France. I don’t know who checked what.

“I didn’t mention any names. It is about a concrete interest from France and from Spain, but the Spaniards gave up because they didn’t reach the amount I asked for. In pole position is France.”

Luis Palma Celtic exit timeline set

Luis Palma will reportedly officially leave Celtic on Monday as he gets set for a loan move to Lech Poznan.

The Honduran winger will travel to Poland from his homeland on Saturday and finalise his switch two days later.

Palma is not in Brendan Rodgers’ long term plans and the manager confirmed Palma will be sent out on loan for the duration of the season.

Giuseppe Ambrosino left out of Napoli pre-season camp

Celtic loan target Giuseppe Ambrosino has not travelled with the rest of his Napoli teammates to Dimaro.

That’s where the Serie A champions are currently training for pre-season, with Ambrosino set to leave the club this summer.

However, Napoli are still considering the best course of action for the Italy U21 striker. They are determining whether a loan is right or a permanent transfer exit.
