Celtic’s quest to make an addition to Brendan Rodgers’ first-team squad is moving closer as the team prepares to regroup at Lennoxtown.
It’s well known that the club have been negotiating with Rapid Vienna for winger Nicolas Kuhn and his switch to the Bhoys now looks imminent after Thursday evening reports.
The Scottish Sun states that Celtic have sought and been granted a work permit for the German, who has previously had spells at Ajax and Bayern Munich.
Although the Bhoys are still engaged in talks with Rapid about an exact fee, it seems the club is paving the way for everything to be concluded rather quickly, with the squad set to return to training shortly.
Brendan Rodgers gave his players some time off in the wake of a busy December period, with stars such as Matt O’Riley and Anthony Ralston posting pictures of their adventures on holiday across social media over the last few days.
Celtic play against Buckie Thistle in the Scottish Cup in nine days, so Rodgers will shortly be putting them through their paces ahead of that fixture and the rest of the Scottish Premiership season.

Kuhn primed to be creative force for Celtic
Having Kuhn in place for those training sessions would be a big boost and allow the Bhoys to focus on other targets in the second half of the month, with more transfers expected.
The 24-year-old is a chance creator and ranks highly across the Austrian Bundesliga in that metric, as well as dribbling success and touches in the opposition box. [FotMob]
It’s hoped he will be a penetrating force up against deep opposition defences, something which Celtic at times lacked in the Scottish Premiership, especially when injuries racked up.
Hopefully, we see this one get over the line sooner rather than later.
