Damir Redzic is the latest man to be linked with Celtic this window.
The Hoops are widely reported to be pushing for an agreement with the 22-year-old, with Martin O’Neill keen to add a winger before the deadline.
Celtic also like Fares Ghedjemis, a French-Algerian Frosinone winger who is almost identical to Redzic in profile. It isn’t clear if the Hoops are looking to sign one or both of the pair.
Red Bull Salzburg are also in the race for Redzic, so the deal is far from a certainty – but if it is, it won’t be the club’s first signing from Dunajská Streda, more commonly known as FC DAC.
The Slovakian side last did business with Celtic in January 2019.

Just a month before Brendan Rodgers left Celtic for Leicester, he was treated to a questionable winter transfer window.
Among the arrivals that month were loan trio Oliver Burke, Timothy Weah and Jeremy Toljan. Iconic stuff.

The one permanent signing wasn’t much better. Vakoun Issouf Bayo was brought to Parkhead from the Slovakian side for a fee of £2 million.
Moussa Dembele had left Celtic on deadline day of the transfer window prior, but due to the last-minute nature of the transfer, no replacement was forthcoming.
Bayo and Weah were brought in that winter, in order to lighten the load on Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths’ shoulders.
At least Weah scored a few goals. Bayo, on the other hand, made just one appearance in the entirety of his first six months, before scoring two in sixteen appearances the following campaign.
Some Hoops fans may remember Craig Levein insisting that Bayo shouldn’t be credited for two own-goals he tried to claim in a 3-1 win over Hearts in August 2019. Sadly, Levein got his wish.
Bayo moved on loan to Toulouse for the 2020-21 season, before Celtic made over half of their money back when he joined Gent the following summer.
He is now a bit-part player at Udinese in Serie A, playing alongside Lennon Miller. He made over 100 appearances for their sister club Watford between 2022 and 2025.
Where do Celtic still need to strengthen after signing Tomas Cvancara and Julian Araujo?
Celtic target Damir Redzic: A background
But let’s remain positive. Redzic is a 22-year-old winger being intensely pursued by a host of European clubs at the moment.
A youth product of Ferencvaros, he mostly played for their II team before spending time on loan at second-tier side Soroksar.
He moved to DAC on loan for the 2023-24 season, joining them permanently the following summer. He has only been a nailed-on starter since the beginning of this season.
Redzic made his debut for Hungary in their dramatic 3-2 defeat to Ireland in Budapest in November.
