Bojan Miovski has been a name at the forefront of many Celtic supporters’ minds over the last 12 months after performances for Aberdeen put him on the radar as a potential signing for the Bhoys.

Miovski has been a stand-out in the Scottish Premiership since making the move to Pittdorie in 2022, scoring 44 goals in 97 appearances for the club.

His impact in the final third at this level is not in doubt. Not only is he a solid goalscorer but links play very nicely and it’s no surprise to hear that bigger clubs than Aberdeen are interested in his services.

Celtic were most heavily linked before the January transfer window, but the Bhoys opted for Adam Idah, who proved to be a massive hit on loan and could still return permanently to the club.

Now Miovski’s career is set to take a different path, albeit still as a potential Celtic opponent.

Girona closing in on Aberdeen’s Miovski

Sky Sports report that Spanish side Girona, part of the City Football Group, are now in ‘advanced talks’ to sign the striker.

It’s said that while negotiations are still ongoing and no bid breakthrough has been made, the talks are progressing well.

The update comes after Espanyol had an offer rejected for the player last week and Genoa expressed interest in bringing him to Italy before pulling out.

Girona are a confirmed entrant in this year’s UEFA Champions League alongside Celtic and could face the Bhoys as Pot Four opponents.

Great move for Miovski to test his true potential

Miovski has proven himself in Scotland but there’s always been a question about what his true potential is. In La Liga and the Champions League, we’ll find that out quite quickly.

It’s a fantastic move for the player to sign for a club at the top end of European football directly from Aberdeen and it’ll be very interest to now see how he gets on.

Hopefully he’s not a talent Celtic end up wishing they made move for.
