Como 1907 ‘closing in on’ £29m double winger swoop amid Celtic’s Nicolas Kuhn interest

Nicolas Kuhn is a wanted man this summer after a good season with Celtic.

The German winger won the Scottish Premiership and Premier Sports Cup double as he played a huge part in the club’s success.

Kuhn scored 21 goals and provided 15 assists across all competitions, particularly impressing in the league phase of the Champions League.

His form dropped off towards the end of the season, but that hasn’t stopped RB Leipzig and Como 1907 from posing serious interest in Kuhn.

RB Leipzig are weighing up a £15m bid for Kuhn, but Como seem to be one step ahead according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzo’s information.

Como set to spend £29m on Real Betis & AZ Alkmaar wingers

Como have entered into talks with Celtic over Kuhn, but they are further ahead in their pursuit of two other wingers.

Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph claims Como are on the verge of signing Jesus Rodriguez from Real Betis for a fee of £17m.

And they have reportedly also had a bid of £12m accepted by AZ Alkmaar for Jayden Addai. It’s clear the Serie A side have cash to spend this summer.

So could that mean that despite entering into talks with Celtic, they abandon the possible Kuhn deal? Does it open the door further for RB Leipzig?

Comparing Kuhn, Rodriguez and Addai’s 2024/25 stats

It’s clear that Kuhn had a stronger season than both Rodriguez and Addai, albeit most of his games coming in the Premiership.

But a large chunk of his games came in the Champions League, and he proved he can cut it at that elite level, particularly in the league phase.

Rodriguez and Addai are much younger than Kuhn, so their end product will have plenty of room for improvement.

Como are certainly buying for the future. Whether they also add Kuhn or not remains to be seen.
