Celtic continue to march forward in the Premiership.
That was proven after Celtic put five goals past Ross County on Saturday to open up a five-point lead over second-placed Aberdeen in the table.
The Dons themselves, who have now played a game extra, proceeded to draw 1-1 at struggling Hearts on Sunday and that lead has now been reduced to four ahead of Celtic’s visit to Pittodrie on Wednesday night.
With Celtic looking healthy in the Champions League and the ability to pull further away in the league, it’s a chance for the team to try and make life as comfortable as possible for themselves ahead of the second half of the season.
A host of changes were made for the Ross County match, including four faces coming into the XI and scoring – Liam Scales, Luke McCowan, Paulo Bernardo and Adam Idah.
It further proves the depth of Celtic’s squad and it starts an interesting debate as to what will happen when the January transfer window re-opens.
Brendan Rodgers reacts to claim Celtic might not need to add more players in January
As mentioned above, the fact that so many so-called bench players started and performed so well is proof of how strong this team is.
That was highlighted to Rodgers post-match against Ross County and how ‘will you necessarily be looking to add in January?’.
The manager issued a brilliant response and joked ‘do you not want me to?’ before sharing that the club are looking to do business when the winter transfer window re-opens, as he told his post-match press conference.

“Given how strong the squad looks, Brendan, will you necessarily be looking to add in January,” asked a reporter.
Rodgers responded with a smirk on his face: “Do you not want me to?” He then added: “You always have to look for improvement. I know there is improvement left that we have within the squad.
“But it’s always balance. It’s always around availability. We know what we would like to do. But let’s see if we can. In the meantime, the players that are here that are progressing and working very well.”
Who could Celtic sign in January?
67 Hail Hail has already revealed that Celtic hold an interest in Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill, but that’s not until next summer.
There has also been talk of Celtic probably bringing in Lennon Miller from Motherwell.
All midfield links when fans would probably tell you that is the strongest part of the team, especially with Paulo Bernardo and Luke McCowan struggling for regular starts.
You also have to take into account outgoings, if an out-of-form Luis Palma leaves, for argument’s sake, then that opens the door for another wide player to be added.
