Ross Doohan won’t be moving to Doncaster Rovers this summer, despite reports linking him with a move to English League Two club.
A few days ago, The Sun reported that both St Johnstone and Doncaster were looking at Doohan as a potential option ahead of the new season.
However, local press down south has now reported that Gary McSheffrey isn’t even on the hunt for a new shot-stopper, never mind Doohan. [Doncaster Free Press]

It comes after the 24-year-old’s season-long loan move to Tranmere Rovers in the same division. He made 34 appearances in all competitions, helping keep 14 clean sheets.
Before he left on that loan, his contract was extended for a further year at Celtic meaning his deal isn’t up until 2023, despite reports elsewhere.
He’s been pictured in Ange Postecoglou’s pre-season at Lennoxtown as recent as today, working as part of a five-goalkeeper group that also includes Joe Hart, Ben Siegrist, Scott Bain and Tobi Oluwayemi.
Doohan’s chance of first-team football at Celtic seems slim so it would be no surprise to see him exit this summer either on another loan or on a permanent basis.
He hasn’t been able to convince any of his managers or coach Stevie Woods that he is number one material at the Bhoys.
On the face of it, a move to Scottish Premiership team such as St Johnstone wouldn’t be the worst idea.

It’s a good division for goalkeepers to make a name for themselves.
Doohan has plenty of senior experience under his belt despite never featuring competitively for Celtic.
It’d be nice to see him find somewhere he can call home for a few seasons.
