Celtic target Kasper Dolberg is in active dialogue over a move to Midtjylland.
Dolberg is known in Glasgow for being slated as the replacement for Adam Idah in a disastrous transfer window last summer.
Against the will of Brendan Rodgers, he was sold before Dolberg’s signing was facilitated, before Ajax scuppered everything.
The Dutch giants agreed €10 million move to bring the Dane back to the club where he made his name – but to say the least, it didn’t go to plan.

Dolberg contributed to the now-infamous legacy of last summer’s window, which eventually led to the departure of Rodgers.
But after completing his big-money move to Amsterdam, he scored just three goals in 22 appearances.
Ajax sporting director Danny Blind’s departure was partially down to Dolberg’s signing, such was the extent of the signing’s ridicule in Holland.
In a dismal season for the club, they finished fifth in the Eredivisie, behind NEC Nijmegen and FC Twente and a whopping 28 points behind champions PSV.
After mutually terminating the contract of Francesco Farioli (only for him to join Porto and win the league there) Ajax hired John Heitinga, sacking him just months later after a disastrous start.
They are now targeting a complete rebuild this summer under new boss Michel Sanchez, hired from Girona in La Liga.

Have Celtic made the right call?
Celtic’s summer business in 2025
Celtic’s erratic summer recruitment in 2025 saw compatriots Shin Yamada and Hayato Inamura described as “club signings” by Rodgers; both were given almost no game time.
Further highlighting a confusing window, Jahmai Simpson-Pusey’s season-long loan yielded just one Celtic start, while £4.5 million acquisition Michel-Ange Balikwisha started just once after September.
The overall strategy, involving figures like Michael Nicholson and Paul Tisdale, reflected poorly on the club’s general transfer process.
Whether we will see a continuation of “club signings” in the future remains to be seen.
