Fenerbahce are reportedly set to offer a transfer fee of over €10m for Celtic star Daizen Maeda.
Maeda was absolutely sensational for the Hoops last season, particularly after the £10m departure of Kyogo to Stade Rennais in the January window.
Brendan Rodgers moved Maeda to the striker position and he ended the season with a haul of 33 goals in 51 games for Celtic in all competitions.
Maeda deservedly swept up the individual player of the year awards and his transfer value is said to have increased by a whopping 587 percent since joining the Hoops.
Now, with the season over, inevitable speculation over Maeda’s future is starting to surface – and a bombshell report has dropped that Celtic fans will not like at all.

Fenerbahce set to lodge transfer bid for Celtic’s Maeda
A report earlier this week claimed Fenerbahce had the Japanese man on their transfer shortlist for the summer window.
Now, Fotomac are claiming that Fenerbahce and Celtic officials are set to meet as the club managed by Jose Mourinho prepare to deliver an offer for Maeda.
The report adds that Maeda’s agent will be present at said meeting and an official transfer offer of at least €10m will be lodged.
Translated from Turkish, the report reads: “The yellow-navy staff, who are planning to make a landing on the island next week for the 27-year-old left winger, will sit down with Celtic officials and present their offers.
“The player’s manager will also be present at the meeting. The management will present an offer of over 10 million euros for the 27-year-old Japanese footballer.”

Maeda’s worrying statement on his Celtic future
Amid this Fenerbahce talk, Maeda will be trying to enjoy a well-earned rest after a long and gruelling season for Celtic.
He was not called up for Japan’s international fixtures in June, which is good news for Celtic ahead of the first-team squad’s return to pre-season at the beginning of July.
Before the Scottish Cup final defeat to Aberdeen, Maeda neither committed to staying or leaving the Hoops beyond this summer.
He said: “This is a world where you never know what’s going to happen next. This a good team but I need to think about what comes next with my family and everything.
“So we’ll just get the games done, then let’s see what happens.”
