Kristoffer Ajer could be on the move in the January transfer window, with a Bundesliga club reportedly interested in his services.

The former Celtic defender swapped Glasgow for London almost five years ago and has been a part of a Brentford side that have established themselves as a top-flight club.

Ajer has made nine appearances this season but could be set for a new adventure in the winter.

Wolfsburg could go back in for Kristoffer Ajer

According to Sky Sports, Wolfsburg are considering going back in for the Norwegian international in the January transfer window.

Wolfsburg had a £13m bid rejected for Ajer in the summer but may go back in to bolster their options along with West Ham United’s Niclas Fullkrug.

The 27-year-old still has two-and-a-half years on his contract, with an option to extend by an extra year if possible.

Will Celtic receive a sell-on fee if Kristoffer Ajer is sold?

Celtic have benefitted from sell-on fees in the past for some of their best players and there will be hopes among fans that they can pocket a healthy sum in the winter.

He was sold to Brentford when he was only 22 and has been relatively consistent in the time he has been with the Bees.

Some reports have claimed that there is a sell-on clause in his contract, meaning a small additional pay day will come their way, depending on the move.

The percentage the Hoops are entitled to isn’t known, but it will be welcome news.
