Former Celtic talent Timo Weah is on the brink of making a big money move to Serie A giants Juventus this summer.
The Athletic reports he has already agreed on personal terms with the Italian side, as the club thrash out the finer details of a £10.3m deal with Ligue 1 outfit Lille.
Weah was actually one of Brendan Rodgers’ final signings during his first spell at the club. The United States international joined on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2019.
He enjoyed his stay in Glasgow but it became clear he wouldn’t be staying on under Neil Lennon. His loan spell was cut short after he prioritised playing in the U20 World Cup, rather than being available for the Scottish Cup Final.
The attacker then made the switch to Lille, where he’s made 107 appearances in all competitions. In that time he’s become a mainstay of the United States senior national side, earning close to 30 caps and featuring in the recent Qatar World Cup.
He’s previously stated his affinity for the Bhoys, telling The Daily Record in 2020: “When I was at Celtic we had fun, training was fun and we were a winning team and top of the league. The coaching staff was amazing to me as a person and as a player.
“They took the time to work with me and the bond that we had as a team and the coaching staff was amazing. Neil was great to me, I left the club in a bit of a rush because of the World Cup and things happen but overall he was a great coach and we loved him.

“He’s a top motivator, he was a player himself and he knows what it’s like to have difficult moments and to not be on your A Game. He was always there for us. The supporters at Celtic are amazing and for me, they’re the best I’ve ever seen.”
It’ll be interesting to see how he gets on in Serie A and with such a big club in Juventus, who are aiming to bounce back next season and shoot up the table after their points deduction this term.
All the best to him!
