Celtic have one more week to add some crucial finishing touches to their squad.

Tomas Cvancara is ready for Celtic’s pivotal clash against Premiership leaders Hearts on Sunday, but more firepower is needed.

Frank McAvennie has been vocal about how Celtic have conducted their transfer business, not just in January, but also in the summer.

Given the noise around Tawanda Maswanhise, McAvennie wants him at Lennoxtown, alongside another SPFL striker.

Is Tawanda Maswanhise Celtic quality?

Frank McAvennie wants Celtic to buy Tawanda Maswanhise and Kieron Bowie

McAvennie wants Hibernian striker Kieron Bowie to swap Easter Road for Celtic Park, even though he can’t see both deals going through.

At best, the Hoops will secure the signature of one more number nine, and whilst McAvennie dreams of the two of them, he admitted ‘one of them would do me.’

Speaking on his Let Me Be Frank Podcast, McAvennie also feels someone like Johnny Kenny would learn a lot from having those players at Celtic.

Simon Houson: Tawanda Maswanhise at Motherwell. That’s a good return. 14 goals. 17 goals involvements in 26 games.”

McAvennie: “I like him. It doesn’t matter who you play for if you are scoring that amount of goals.”

Houston: “Martin O’Neill was, of course, watching and at the Motherwell game.”

McAvennie: “Hopefully, he will get him in. Just go and buy him. Buy the boy from Hibs as well because I think he is a good player. He’s clever. They won’t buy two of them, but they will get one. One of them would do me. I think Johnny Kenny could learn from them.”

Maswanhise and Bowie’s numbers compared

Given that Hibernian are a bigger club than Motherwell and Bowie has an extra year on his contract, he would probably cost more.

But in terms of age, only a few months separate the 23-year-olds, with Maswanhise leading the charge with the goals, whilst Bowie has that European experience under his belt now.
