Gvidas Gineitis’ agent has spoken out on the speculation surrounding his future and it seems like Celtic may not be priced out of a potential move just yet.
Celtic know Torino want €10m for Gineitis, but still regard the midfielder as an important part of their plans moving into next season.
However, rather than dismiss the transfer speculation, agent Dmitry Vinokurov admits that should Torino get the right offer from Celtic or other clubs, the player and the Serie A side will consider it.
🗣️ Reo Hatate confirms his desire to leave Celtic…
Celtic’s biggest obstacle is not just Torino’s Gineitis’ valuation
€10m is a hefty price for Celtic to pay for a player but it seems that may not be the only problem the Parkhead club face in trying to sign Gineitis.
Vinokurov told TuttoMercatoWeb, “Torino holds Gvidas in high regard and believes in his future; they consider him an important element for the project.
“At the same time, however, Gvidas is ambitious: there have already been expressions of interest from several clubs, and if an offer were to be attractive to both Torino and Gvidas, it would certainly be carefully evaluated.”
This is clearly an agent not looking to shut down transfer speculation, he is merely pointing out that even his player has a price, despite admitting Torino hold him in high regard.
Celtic now know exactly where they stand with Torino and Gineitis
It’s clear from Gineitis and his agent that should the right offer come in, Torino will seriously consider it.
The fact that there is no insistence from anyone on their side that he is not for sale is a big green flag.
Celtic can stop wondering whether or not they can sign Gineitis. The answer from his own camp is yes.
The real question now is whether Torino’s asking price is one Dermot Desmond is prepared to pay.
