Celtic’s reported pursuit of Egypt World Cup star Haissem Hassan has taken another step forward after a possible timeline for his move emerged.

Camilo Duran is Celtic’s first signing of the summer and Martin O’Neill appears ready to make Hassan his second after trailing the winger for the past few weeks.

The latest update suggests Celtic’s interest has now progressed beyond simply identifying the winger as a transfer target.

Fresh Haissem Hassan claim reveals Celtic transfer timeline

Journalist Pablo Oliveira has claimed that Celtic are in negotiations with Real Oviedo to bring Hassan to the club as early as next week.

Oliveira said on X, “Celtic are in negotiations to sign Haissem Hassan from Real Oviedo!

“The club maintains frequent contact with the player’s staff to seal the move to Glasgow and, if everything goes as planned, the expectation is to close the deal as early as next week.”

The claim offers the clearest indication yet that Celtic’s interest has developed into an active attempt to sign the 24-year-old attacker.

Why Celtic are still pushing to sign Haissem Hassan

Hassan has entered the final year of his Real Oviedo contract, which could strengthen Celtic’s position in negotiations without guaranteeing a cut-price deal.

The left-footed winger is most comfortable attacking from the right and running at defenders. With Celtic needing more options across the forward line, Hassan would add another one-against-one threat to O’Neill’s squad.

Celtic still have work to do before Hassan can be considered their second summer signing. The next seven days could now decide whether Hassan becomes Celtic’s second signing of the summer.
